TURLOCK, Calif. — The San Francisco State softball team split Saturday's doubleheader and the series versus Stanislaus State at Warrior Field. The Gators couldn't overcome a five-run deficit run in game one and fell 5-4, then won the series finale 4-1.
- SF State moves to 14-17 and to 10-10 in conference play on the year. The Warriors are now 12-18 and 8-11 in CCAA action.
- Marley Gonzales had a pair of two-hit games and now leads the team with a .333 batting average. She also stole three bases.
- Daniella Guerrera went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI in game one.
- DeLeon did not reach base in game one. After walking in game two, she has now reached safely in 25 of the Gators' 28 games this season.
- The Gators outhit the Warriors 19-18 over the two games. The Gators had 10 hits in game two, marking the seventh time this season that the Gators have had 10 or more hits.
- SF State turned its sixteenth double play of the season in game two, a 6-4-3 that ended the Warriors' half of the second inning.
Game One
- The Warriors staked four-run lead with a five-hit opening frame. The Warriors added what turned out to be the winning run in the second on a two-out unearned run.
- The Gators' comeback attempt came up short. SF State got a pair of runs back in the fourth. Gonzales scored from first on a Guerrera double to right center and a Holihan groundout brought home an unearned run.
- In the seventh inning, pinch hitter Shaunessy Cardwell delivered an RBI double and the Gators got within a run with pinch hitter Marissa Jordan's sac fly. However, the Gators left the tying run at third base.
- Mari Takeda Bajan (5-6) lasted just two innings and gave up five runs, three earned, on nine hits.
- Elise Roy scattered two hits in four scoreless innings of relief.
- Martello (9-4) gave up four runs, two earned, on nine hits over six innings of work.
- Victoria Alarcon gave up a sac fly but picked up the save by getting the last two outs of the game.
Game Two
- Guerrera's infield single in the top of the third scored DeLeon from third and gave the Gators an early 1-0 lead.
- A three-run fourth inning was the difference. Holihan led off with a solo shot to left, Misasi doubled home a run, and Gonzales drove home a run with a two-out single.
- Katie Thornsberry's RBI triple in the sixth prevented the shutout.
- Gators starter Elise Roy (8-5) allowed just two one run on seven hits over seven innings of work. She walked three and struck out one.
- Alarcon (1-6) took the loss in game two. She allowed two runs on four hits in three innings of work. Alarcon walked two and struck out one.
- Shelby Frutoz allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts over four innings of relief.
