SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The San Francisco State baseball team got the offense going but were unable to take a back and forth series with Cal State San Marcos in a 13-9 loss.
 
	- SF State falls to 23-16 and 17-12 in the CCAA while Cal State San Marcos improves to 22-15 and 21-11 in the CCAA.
- Jacob French was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
- The Gators' four home runs during the game tied a season high. Including French, AJ Schrader, River Diaz De Leon and Anthony Alvarez all went yard.
- While the Gators outhit the Cougars 14 to 11, the difference was in the number of free bases. The Gators only drew three walks while the Cougars drew seven and were by pitches twice.
- San Marcos Garrett Teunissen led all players with five RBIs after going 2-for-5 at the plate.
French got the Gators on the board first with a solo home run over right center in the first.
 San Marcos responded with a home run from Teunissen in the bottom of the inning to score two and take the lead.
 
Schrader answered with a solo homer in the second to tie the game up.
 With two outs, Murillo knocked an RBI double and advanced to third on a throwing error and French brought Murillo home with a singled sliced into right field. The Cougars retook the lead in the bottom of the inning, plating five runs off four hits to take a 7-4 lead.
 
The Gators got a pair back in the fourth. French's ball dropped in for an RBI double to center and Laferriere brought him home with a single to right field. In the bottom of the inning, the Cougars took a two-run lead with an RBI single to left field. The Gators loaded the bases in the top of the sixth with two outs. 
Anthony Alvarez scored off a wild pitch cut the lead to 8-7. Diaz De Leon hit a two-out home run to make it a tie game in the seventh.
 The Gators looked to get out of the seventh unharmed. After giving up two straight walks to load the bases, the Gators allowed a bloop double that plated two runs.
 
Alvarez got a run back with a solo shot over the left field fence.
 The Cougars plated three runs in the eighth including two runs that were off a two-run blast to go up 13-9. They gave up two walks in the ninth but held both runners. 
 
	- Ryan Garza only lasted three innings. He gave up a season-high five walks to go along with five hits and eight runs. Five of those runs were earned. He also tossed three strikeouts.
- Ethan Remmers pitched three clean innings to give the Gators a chance at coming back. He gave up two hits and tossed two strikeouts.
- Mickey Radanovich (2-1) took his first loss of the season after giving up five runs on four hits and two walks.
- Nate Jaramillo (1-1) picked up his first win of the season in relief.
The Gators play a doubleheader starting at noon on April 20th against the Cougars. The game will be broadcast on the
