SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State baseball team resumed its series finale with Sonoma State on Tuesday afternoon. Leading 9-6 in the top of the sixth, the Gators preserved the lead and added an insurance run for a 10-6 win.

- SF State improves to 20-14Â and 14-10Â in conference. The Gators sit in third with four series to go. Three of the four teams sit in seventh or lower in the current standings. Sonoma falls to 14-16 and 8-12 in the CCAA
- Ryan Garza, who came into the line-up to pitch, took his first at-bat of the season and singled up the middle.
- AJ Schrader hit his first home run of the season, giving him 11 career home runs.

With the bye week ahead, the Gators went to regular Friday starter
Ryan Garza to close out the game and pitch two innings. Garza gave up a lead-off walk and a hit but retired the next six batters he faced to preserve the lead.
AJ Schrader hit the ball over the right field fence in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 10-6.

- Jacob French (3-1) earned the win for the Gators while Tanner Fonoti (2-3) took the loss.
- Garza picked up his first save of the season while adding three strikeouts in two scoreless frames. Garza leads the conference in strikeouts (55), innings pitched (57.1) and is third in ERA with a 2.83 ERA.
