How It Happened

A pair of Gators were hit on back-to-back at bats with two outs and Santos capitalized on the free bases with a single up the middle to score a run. The Gators looked like they were going to get out of the first unharmed after a one-out triple but another runner got aboard and Tyler Chaffee hit a three-run homer with two outs.

Pomona opened the bottom of the fourth with a lead-off home run and added a pair of runs after that. The Broncos would add two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to lead 11-1. The Gator bats would remain silent the rest of the way.

How It Happened

Game two featured a pitching duel between the Gators' David Eichhorn and Pomona's Rhys Stevens. Pomona looked to score in the bottom of the fifth with a two-out double from Jack Sanders and a runner in scoring position but the Gators threw out the runner at home.

The Gators finally broke threw when they loaded the bases in the sixth and Matt Sugden hit a sac fly to left to allow Justin Johnson to come home.

Schrader doubled with no outs in the ninth, advanced to third on a ground-out and scored when the shortstop bobbled the ball. French was able to add another insurance run with an RBI double up the left line to take a 3-0 lead. A wild pitch allowed Murillo to scamper home for an insurance run. Johnson plated another run with an RBI single to left to extend the lead 5-1. Andrew Silva relieved Eichhorn in the bottom of the ninth. He gave up a lead-off double that would score on the next at-bat, but nothing past that.
