POMONA, Calif. - The San Francisco State baseball team fell behind early in game one and could not get the bats going in a 11-1 loss to start the doubleheader against Cal Poly Pomona. David Eichhorn came up on top in a pitcher's duel in a 5-1 victory in game two.

- SF State sits at 19-12 and 13-8 in conference. Pomona is now 13-13 and 9-9 in the CCAA
- Daniel Santos accounted for the lone RBI in game one.
- Jacob French hit his 11th double of the season in game two.
- Justin Johnson added to his conference leading RBI total with his 42nd RBI in game two.
Game One
A pair of Gators were hit on back-to-back at bats with two outs and Santos capitalized on the free bases with a single up the middle to score a run. The Gators looked like they were going to get out of the first unharmed after a one-out triple but another runner got aboard and Tyler Chaffee hit a three-run homer with two outs.

Pomona opened the bottom of the fourth with a lead-off home run and added a pair of runs after that. The Broncos would add two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to lead 11-1. The Gator bats would remain silent the rest of the way.

- Nathan Shinn (1-5) only went three innings before getting pulled, giving up four hits, five runs and four walks.
- Theo Dopkins and James Kobylt both saw time in relief, giving up three runs each.
- Nicholas Thomson made his season debut, tossing two scoreless frames.
- Caleb Reyes (3-0) went seven innings and only gave up one run.
Game two
Game two featured a pitching duel between the Gators'
David Eichhorn and Pomona's Rhys Stevens. Pomona looked to score in the bottom of the fifth with a two-out double from Jack Sanders and a runner in scoring position but the Gators threw out the runner at home.

The Gators finally broke threw when they loaded the bases in the sixth and
Matt Sugden hit a sac fly to left to allow
Justin Johnson to come home.

Schrader doubled with no outs in the ninth, advanced to third on a ground-out and scored when the shortstop bobbled the ball. French was able to add another insurance run with an RBI double up the left line to take a 3-0 lead. A wild pitch allowed Murillo to scamper home for an insurance run. Johnson plated another run with an RBI single to left to extend the lead 5-1.
Andrew Silva relieved Eichhorn in the bottom of the ninth. He gave up a lead-off double that would score on the next at-bat, but nothing past that.

- Eichhorn matched his season high with eight strikeouts through eight scoreless innings. His 46 strikeouts on the season ties with teammate Ryan Garza for most on the season currently.
- Andrew Silva gave the Gators an inning in relief in the ninth to preserve the lead.
- Rhys Stevens (1-4), took the tough luck loss, only giving up one unearned run through seven innings of work while striking out six.
