How It Happened

The Gators struggled to get anything going in the first. Seilala Lautaimi scored the Gators' first basket to cut the lead down to 8-2 with 2:46 left. The Gators had a chance to cut the deficit even more but went 1-for-6 from the free throw line in the first. Trailing 16-6 in the second, the Gators came back thanks to a 5-for-6 shooting effort from beyond the arch to erupt for 24 points in the quarter.

A three from Nyana Asiasi gave the Gators their largest lead up 39-32 in the third. The Yotes came back to make it a tie game with one quarter to go. The Gators trailed 59-57 with 2:34 remaining in the fourth. A three from Tarryn Ross made it a five-point lead for the Yotes. The Gators turned the ball over on the following two possession and Yotes were able to take care of business at the line to maintain the lead.
