WBB | Gators Can't Get Offense Going Against Broncos

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco State women's basketball team fell to the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos 71-36 at home Saturday afternoon.

  • The Gators fall to 6-11 overall and 4-8 in the CCAA. With a little over half of conference remaining, the Gators are tied for eighth. The Broncos improve to 16-2 and sit in second in the conference at 11-1.
  • 36 points is the fewest points scored by the Gators this season.
  • SF State shot 20 percent from the field and 9.1 percent from three.
  • The Broncos had four players in double-digits for scoring. Kalaya Buggs had a triple-double with 10 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds.
  • The Gators only grabbed 21 boards compared to the Broncos 56.

How It Happened

The Gators went 3-for-27 through the first two quarters of action. They had a couple of opportunities at the line but finished 4-for-8 through two quarters. The Broncos meanwhile scored 20 and 18 points respectively to lead 38-10 heading into the locker room. While the Gators found some offensive rhythm in the second half of the game, the Broncos did not take their foot off the break.
