The Gators had their best opportunity to score near the end of the first half. Gators had a free kick a couple yards outside the box on the right. The ball sailed to Malia Wagatsuma but her shot went outside to the left. UC Merced had a free kick opportunity in the 54th minute on the left side of the field. Lexi Wright took the kick and sailed it into the goal over the keeper's head to take the lead. The Gators only took two more shots the rest of the game.
Kylie Tone (1-2-3) made three saves in the game. UC Merced's Alicia Lepe did not record a save or a goal through 90 minutes.
