SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State volleyball team got back into the win column with a 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-14, 25-19) victory over Cal State East Bay.

- The Gators improve to 7-12Â on the season and 6-6Â in the CCAA. East Bay falls to 11-9 and 8-4 in the CCAA.
- Grace Witcher had a career-high 29 kills, third-most in a single match. Aidan Goodrich had 17.
- Melanie Hewlett dished out 52 assists on the night.
- The Gators finished with a .336 hitting percentage and held East Bay to .182.

After leading throughout the first set, the Gators started to pull away with a 6-1 run to lead 19-12. The Pioneers came within two of the Gators' lead at 22-20 but Witcher and
Lindsey Olsen connected on kills and an attack error from the Pioneers led to a Gator win in the set. Down by one in set two, a couple of Gator attack errors helped the Pioneers go on a 5-0 run to lead 17-11. Witcher had three straight kills to get the Gators back within one down 21-20 but a service error gave the Pioneers the serve back and a couple of aces helped lead to a set two win.
The Gators had their most dominate set of the match in set three. Goodrich led the Gators with six kills. The offense continued its efficiency in set four with 20 kills, no attack errors and a hitting percentage of .526.
