LOGAN, Utah - San Francisco State women's basketball team kicked off its season with an Exhibition game against Utah State at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The Gators played a close first quarter but ultimately fell 71-40.
- The Gators started Gianna Darté, Geriah Bradley, Malea Scobie, Anyce Jefferson and Athena Brombacher.
- Brombacher led the Gators with 11 points.
- SF State finished with 35 turnovers and 25 personal fouls
- The Gators had nine steals while Utah State had 17.
- Aaliyah Gayles led Utah State with 16 points.
Darté scored the first basket for the Gators with a three-pointer at 7:14 in the first quarter. Despite six turnovers in the first quarter, the Gators kept things close. Brombacher was 3-for-3 with six points and Scobie scored on a lay-up to tie things up at 13-13 with a little over thirty seconds to go. Aaliyah Gayles' three-point basket near the end of the quarter put Utah State up by one possession.
Utah State used a 12-2 run to start to pull away from the Gators in the second quarter and go into the locker room up 34-22. The Utah used a huge third quarter where they outscored the Gators 20-3 to take control of the game the rest of the way.
