How It Happened

After starting the game down 8-0, Darté launched a three with 6:17 remaining in the first to spark a 8-8 run to time it up. The Gaels would regain the lead on the next possession but the Gators would stay within two possessions the rest of the quarter. The Gaels took advantage of free throw opportunities to start the second quarter on a 6-0 run and lead 22-11. Baskets from Tegan Gaines and Geriah Bradley helped keep the deficit to single digits but the Gators weren't able to get much else past that and closed the quarter out down 34-20.

The Gators were cold the first five minutes of the third quarter while the Gaels scored 12 unanswered points. Leilani Blecha broke the ice with a three-point basket but the Gaels were able to close the third quarter out with a 30-point lead.
