CHICO, Calif. - The San Francisco State volleyball team close out the regular season with a 3-1 loss at Chico State (20-25, 20-25, 25-10, 20-25).
- The Gators fall to 11-14 on the season and 10-8 in the CCAA. They close out the regular season fifth in the conference. The Wildcats close out the season 12-13 and 8-10 in the CCAA.
- Aidan Goodrich led the Gators with 18 kills. She also had three blocks and 12 digs.
- Melanie Hewlett dished 42 assists.
- Chico edged the Gators in attack percentage (.255 to .229) and kills (57 to 51)
- Alana Larson had 21 digs.
Tied 10 all in the first set, Chico pulled away after scoring four straight points, forcing a Gator time-out. The Gators would not get within three points of the lead the rest of the way. Back-to-back blocks by
Lindsey Olsen gave the Gators a 7-2 lead in the second set before a Chico time-out. The Gators took a 11-4 lead before errors started to pile up and Chico came back to tie it at 13 all. A service error gave the Gators the serve back but the Gators gave the serve back with an error of their own and Chico outscored the Gators 8-1 to lead 22-15.
The Gators came back in the third with a dominate set and held Chico to a .034 hitting percentage while landing five aces. Chico opened set four with three straight kills and an attack error to take a lead they would never relinquish. Chico's offense finished with 21 kill in the fourth set
The Gators head to the CCAA tournament hosted by Stanislaus State. They will play #4 seed Stanislaus State in an opening round match on November 20 at 5:30 pm. Live stats are available at
