SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - San Francisco State men's basketball team fell to Western Washington 87-62 to close out the weekend.
- The Gators fall to 0-2 while Western Washington improves to 2-0.
- For a second straight game, Milandev Chatha led the Gators in scoring with 14 points.
- Mason Haris nearly had a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.
- SF State shot 37.3 percent from the field while Western Washington shot 48.5 percent.
- Western Washington held a 48-36 advantage on rebounds.
Gators found themselves in an early hole as Western Washington took a 14-2 lead to open the game. Coming out of a timeout, Chatha scored on a jumper and made a pair of free threes as a part of a 6-0 run. The Vikings extended their lead and led by as much as 16 in the first half. Western Washington closed out the first half up 43-28.
The Vikings opened up the second half with three baskets before Fed Pernell scored to cut the lead to 49-20. Harris scored on back-to-back possessions to cut the deficit further but the Gators were unable to get closer than 15 points of the lead.
