How It Happened

The two teams went back in forth in the first set. Down 19-17, the Gators landed two kills and Wilson and Lindsey Olsen landed a block. A service error gave the Yotes the service back and they scored the next three points. The duo of Olsen and Wilson landed another block but the Yotes responded with a kill and service ace to end the set.

Down 6-1 to start set two, Alana Larson had three straight aces to get the Gators back within one. A service error gave the Yotes the serve back and they started to pull away. Coming out of a time-out down 17-12, Goodrich landed all five kills in a 5-1 run that got the Gators back within one of the lead. The Gators had a chance down 23-22 but the Yotes closed out the set with back to back kills.

The Gators called timeout down 7-3 in set three. They were able to get within one but the Yotes overwhelmed the Gators in front of the next, landing three blocks to help extend the lead to 12-6. The Gators got back within two but the Yotes offense took over and landed five kills in a 7-1 run to lead 20-12.
