LOS ANGELES - The San Francisco State women's basketball team dropped its first game of the road trip to Cal State LA, 80-57.
- SF State falls to 2-7 on the season and 0-3 in the CCAA. Los Angeles improves to 5-3 and 2-1 in the CCAA.
- Athena Brombacher had a season-high 17 points to lead the Gators. Samantha Myhr chipped in 13.
- Geriah Bradley had a game-high five steals.
- The Gators shot 31.3 percent from the field and only 18.1 from three. The Golden Eagles shot 47.8 percent.
- Nevaeh Asiasi led the Golden Eagles with 24 points.
A slow start had the Gators trailing early. Down by ten in the first quarter, Gianna Darté brought the deficit back to single digits with a lay-up in the final seconds of the first quarter to make it a 16-8 game. Myhr scored three baskets from beyond the arch in the first five minutes of the second to make it a five point game. The Gators got back within a possession and Brombacher made shots at the line to keep the Gators within a possession. They went to the locker room down 32-29. After a strong second quarter, the Gator offense went cold in the third and only scored three baskets. The Golden Eagles' offense heated up and shot 61.1 percent to take a 21-point lead at the end of the third.
