CARSON, Calif. - The San Francisco State men's basketball team raced out to an early lead thanks to good shooting but ultimately fell to Cal State Dominguez Hills 80-71.
- SF State falls to 1-9 and 0-4 in conference. Cal State Dominguez Hills improves to 8-3 and 3-1 in the CCAA.
- Four different Gators reached double figures. Miles Pollard led the way with 16 points.
- Markees Williams nearly had a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
- The Gators shot 44.4 percent from three in the first half but cooled off in the second half and shot 27.2.
- Jalen Brown led the Toros with 27 points.
Milandev Chatha scored the first seven points for the Gators and Williams had back-to-back threes to give the Gators a 18-7 lead through the first six minutes of action. Up 27-14 halfway through the first half, the Gator offense started to cool off and the Toros scored seven unanswered points. Bricen Buicak dropped a three and drove in a lay-up to give the Gators a double-digit lead again with 3:49 remaining. The Gators had a pair of turnovers that the Toros converted to points and the Toros cut the lead down to 40-36 heading into halftime.
The Toros quickly erased the Gators lead to open the second half, outscoring the Gators 9-2 before a timeout was called. Chatha tied the game up at 45-45 with a three-point shot but the Toros responded with a 7-0 run. Dominugez Hills would lead by as much as 20 in the second half as the Gators could only get the offensive momentum lback ate in the game.
