TURLOCK, Calif. – The San Francisco State softball team wrapped up the Tournament of Champions presented by the City of Turlock with a 6-0 win over Academy of Art on Sunday afternoon.
- The Gators plated a pair in the first inning. A throwing error allowed Daniella Guerrera to score. Holihan also scored on a double steal attempt.
- In the second, Cardwell sent the first pitch of the inning down the right field line for a single. She moved up when Nelson reached by error, then scored on DeLeon's double to left center.
- Cardwell led off the fifth with a walk and Emily Madrigal came in to pinch run. A throwing error allowed Madrigal to score from second, and Kate Nelson, who drew a four-pitch walk, scored on DeLeon's sac fly.
- SF State added one more run in the seventh. With one out, Trinidad drew a four-pitch walk and eventually scored on Jordan's single to left field.
- Caratachea (2-2) scattered three hits over five scoreless innings. She struck out five.
- Atayde finished things off with two scoreless innings of three-hit ball. She walked one and struck out a pair.
- Kamielle Powell (1-4) gave up five runs, all unearned, on four hits over six inings. She walked four and struck out a pair.
- Sydney Harmon struggled in an inning of relief for the Urban Knights. On 28 pitches, she gave up a hit and three walks, which led to a run. She recorded one strikeout.
SF State will begin CCAA play at Cal Poly Humboldt. with a four-game series, Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22. CCAA games are being broadcast on
