POMONA, Calif. - The San Francisco State women's basketball team played #20 Cal Poly Pomona close in the first two quarters but could not keep up in the latter frames and fell.

- The Gators drop to 9-15, 8-11 in CCAA action on the year, while the Broncos improve 21-4, 16-3 in league action.
- Ana Daniels had 16 points, six rebounds and six steals to lead the Gators. Alexsandra Alvarado also scored in double figures with 15 points.
- Ball security and fouls were an issue for both teams. The Gators finished with 27 turnovers and 25 fouls. The Broncos almost matched the Gators with 28 turnovers and 26 fouls.
- Pomona's three-point shooting provide a boast as the Broncos shot 40.0 percent and 5-for-9 from three in the third.
- Kalaya Buggs led the Broncos with 18 points.
Both teams struggled with ball control as the Gators turned the ball over five times and the Broncos seven times in the first quarter. Down 14-10 with seconds remaining, Alvarado drove for a lay-up to cut the Broncos deficit to one basket. On the first possession of the second quarter, Alvarado missed her basket but the Gators got the dead ball rebound and she banked a three for the first lead for the Gators. Both teams went cold the next two minutes before Kalaya Buggs three gave the Broncos the lead back. Myers shot a long three and Alvarado scored on the next possession to lead 25-24 with 18 seconds remaining. Bradley fouled the Broncos on the way back and the Broncos made both shots at the line to take the lead before halftime.
Back-to-back three from the Broncos followed by a scoop and score led to a Gator timeout down 34-29. But the Gators could not find anything on offense as the Broncos went on a 6-1 run before a second timeout was called. SF State looked to cut the deficit to single digits at the end of the quarter but a turnover led to a buzzer beater basket from the Broncos at the end of the third. The Broncos scored five points over the first two and a half minutes of the fourth quarter to go up by 19 and never look back.
