How It Happened

The Yotes opened up the game with an 11-2 run with the Gators only points coming from a pair of made free throws from Imani Felix. Coming out of a timeout, Alvarado scored the first basket of the game but the Gators were unable to slow down a sharp shooting Yotes team that finished the quarter with a 58.8 shooting percentage. Down 22-9 heading into the second quarter, the Gators did most of their damage at the free throw line to stay within reach of the Yotes lead and went 10-for-11. The Gators still trailed by 13 after the second quarter down 38-25. A 16-0 run put San Bernardino well in front of the Gators in the third quarter. Alvarado finally got the Gators a bucket with 4:26 remaining in the third. They closed out the quarter with a 63-35 lead and were able to sit on the lead for the win.
