SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State baseball team had a little bit of deju vu at Maloney Field and stared game one in a big deficit but came back to win 10-9 over #8 Chico State. The Gators held a 3-0 lead heading into the top of the sixth in the second seven-inning game before darkness started to roll in. The game will conclude February 23 at noon.
- SF State improves to 5-5 on the season while the Wildcats fall to 8-3.
- Daniel Murillo hit his third home run of the season to give the Gators the lead in game one. Jackson Wood hit his first career home run as a Gator.
- Daniel Santos went a perfect 3-for-3 and led the team with four RBIs.
- Gators only drew two walks in game one while Chico drew four.

After putting up six runs through the first two innings, the Gators found success on offense in the bottom of the second. With a pair of runners in scoring position, Santos brought a runner home from third on a sac fly to get the Gators on the board.
Camden Andrews singled on the next at-bat to plate the runner at second home. Chico responded in the top of the third with an RBI single up the middle to make it a 7-2 game.
AJ Schrader went up to bat in the bottom of the third with runners on the corners and singled to right to bring a runner home. Santos went right back up the middle to cut the deficit to 7-4. An error, single and a walk load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the fifth. Santos hit the ball up the middle to bring in two runs. With runners on the corners, Andrews hit into a double play but the tying run came across.
Murillo hit the first ball he saw in the bottom of the sixth to give the Gators their first lead of the series.
Jackson Wood added insurance runs with a two-run home run to extend the lead to 10-7 in the eighth.
Andrew Silva went out for his third inning of work to lock down the save. After an RBI single cut the lead down to two, the bases loaded up with no outs. Silva induced a shallow fly-out and struck out the next batter. A sharp hit went to third allowing one run to cross but Kyle Olympia snagged the next ball and got the final out.
- Nathan Shinn went 4.1 innings in a no-decision start. He gave up nine hits, 7 runs with five earned while also striking out six.
- Jake Spence (1-1) picked up his first win after pitching 1.2 innings in relief. He allowed one hit.
- Andrew Silva pitched three innings and earned his first save of the season. His final stat line was four hits, two runs and five strikeouts.

Gators struck first with a two-out rally in the first. Santos doubled down the left field line and
Aaron Roberts brought him home on the next at-bat. Allred hit a one-out single in the second. Chico looked to limit the damage to the one hit but a throwing error from the second baseman allowed Allred and
Matt Sugden to both be in scoring position with two-outs.
Michael Cunningham came up to bat next and capitalized with a double deep to center field. The next three innings were quiet before darkness halted the game.
- Alek Trukki gave the Gators five scoreless innings, giving up two hits and a walk during the stretch.
- Jeremy Keller stands to take the loss, giving up three runs with only one of the runs earned. He also struck out seven batters.
