VB | Gators to be Honored with Banner Ceremony

SAN FRANCISCO — Wednesday is National Girls & Women in Sports Day and what better day to announce honoring the incredible women of the 2024 San Francisco State volleyball team? The Gators won the 2024 NCAA Division II West Region Championship and finished the season as the NCAA Division II National Runner-Up.

The Gators will be honored at halftime of the men's basketball game on Thursday, February 27 with the unveiling of the team's West Region Championship and National Runner-Up banners hung in the rafters. The doubleheader will begin with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. with the men scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available now at sfstategators.com/tickets – tickets for SF State students, faculty, and staff are free!

The Gators finished the season ranked second in the country with a 26-7 record and several student-athletes earned individual honors. Senior Kimberly DeBoer, the CCAA Setter of the Year for a third straight season, was the first Gator in the team's history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors, being named to the Second Team. Kimberly DeBoer and Brianna DeBoer were named CSC Academic All-District for the third time in their careers, and Izzy Issak and Anastacia Garza also earned the honor for a first time. Tamiya Wilson joined Issak and Kimberly DeBoer in earning AVCA All-America and West Region Honors. DeBoer becomes the first player in program history to be named to the AVCA Second Team while Wilson and Issak earned Honorable Mention. Additionally, the AVCA named DeBoer and Wilson All-First Team West Region while Issak earned Honorable Mention. DeBoer also earned All-First Team D2CCA West Region. Wilson and Issak earned All-Second Team D2CCA West Region honors. Five Gators earned a spont on the All-CCAA Team. Kimberly DeBoer, Issak, and Wilson earned First Team honors, Garza earned Second Team honors and Aidan Goodrich garnered Honorable Mention for a second time.
