SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The San Francisco State baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Westmont College. In game one, a seven-run fourth for the Warriors was the undoing of the Gators. Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth in game two, Westmont knocked in a pair of the runs and the Gators could not tie the game back up in the following inning to keep it going.
- SF State falls to 1-2 on the season while the Warriors improve to 3-2.
- The Warriors were selected to finish second in the Pac West behind Point Loma who made the College World series a year ago. Westmont is in its second year of Division two after winning the NAIA World Series in 2023.
- Between two games, the Gators left 17 on base.
- Michael Cunningham and Daniel Murillo went 3-for-5 in game one with Cunningham hitting three doubles. He added another double in game two while Murillo went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.
- SF State struck out 14 times in game one and six in game two. The Warriors finished with seven strikeouts in game one and five in game two.

Back-to-back hits to start the game put a pair of Gators in scoring position. Santos grounded out to shortstop to advance both runners but back-to-back strikeouts stranded the runner at third. Westmont put runners on the corners with no outs. A ball was hit to center to bring the runner at third home. Garza got a second out on a pick-off to erase a runner a first but the batter hit the ball over center field to make it a 3-1 game after one inning. Doubles by

Justin Johnson Kyle Olympia tied the game up.
Roberts drew a lead-off walk in the third and Johnson brought him home with an RBI single. Murillo hit a lead-off homerun in the top of the fourth to put the Gators up 5-3.
Four runs by the Warriors in the fourth ended Garza's day. Alvarez had a pair of runners on with two outs but a home run extended their lead to 10-5. The Warriors tacked on a run in the bottom of the sixth but the Gators got a run back when Johnson drilled a ball to the left field wall to bring a runner in.
- Ryan Garza (0-1) drew the loss after giving up seven runs through 3.2 innings, only tossing one strikeout.
- Anthony Alvarez went 1.1 innings and tossed two strikeouts while giving up two runs
- Tyler Ohlson made his Gator debut and tossed four strikeouts in three innings of work. He gave up two runs off four hits.
- Bryan Peck took the win after recording eight punch outs. Caden Beloian earned the save for pitching four innings in relief.

A solo home run by the Warriors put them up in the first. A pair of runners were at first and second with two outs in the third and Cunningham laced a ball down the left field line for a double to score both runners and take a 2-1 lead. Another solo shot by the Warriors in the fourth tied things up.
With the game tied at 2-2 and two-outs in the bottom of the sixth, the bases loaded up and Westmont's Daniel Patterson hit a two RBI single to take the lead. The Gators loaded the bases up with one out in the top of the seventh but the next two batters struck out to end the game.
- Alex Trukki made his first start as a Gator. He went 4.1 innings with four strikeouts, three hits, a pair of earned runs and a walk.
- Edrian Rangel came in relief and took the loss. He did not give up a hit but drew two walks, tossed two hit by pitches and took two earned runs.
- Zach Yates earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings in relief.
