LOS ANGELES — Nathan Shinn provided another strong start on the mound to lead the San Francisco State baseball team in a 8-4 win over Cal State LA in game one. The Gators led early in game two but fell behind in the sixth and ultimately lost 4-2.
 
	- SF State sits at 12-11 on the season and 8-7 in the CCAA. Cal State LA sits at 9-12 and 6-5 in the CCAA.
- Michael Cunningham hit his eighth home run of the season and 17th of his career.
- The Gators left 11 on base in game one and seven in game two.
- Daniel Murillo was a home run away from hitting for the cycle in game two and went 3-for-4.
- Base running errors hampered the Gators in game two as two players were caught stealing and one was picked off.

The Gators put together a two-out rally in the top of the first. 
Nicholas Allred singled, 
Justin Johnson walked and 
Daniel Santos hit an RBI single for the first run of the game. LA tied it up with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning. Cunningham hit a two-run bomb in the third to give the Gators a 3-1 lead. Allred took a free base in the fourth and Johnson brought him hole with a single to right center. Johnson advanced on a sac bunt and 
Matt Sugden singled to right to bring him home. LA cut into the Gators lead with another solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 5-2 game. With a pair of runners on first and second in the sixth, 
Daniel Murillo singled to bring one home and Allred put the ball in play to allow a second runner to score. The Gators got one more insurance run in the seventh when 
Kyle Olimpia hit a RBI single to right field. Cal State LA loaded the bases with two outs and added two runs off a single to center in the bottom of the eighth but no more damage was done past that.
 
 
	- For a third straight week, Shinn (4-1) gave the Gators 7+ innings of work and a win on the mound. He gave up three runs off seven hits and tossed eight punchouts.
- Jake Spence went an inning in relief and gave up a run.
- Nick Bacura pitched a scoreless from to close out the game.

Stephen Espinoza got the Gators on the board first with a solo shot over right field in the second. Allred drew a lead-off walk in the third and Murillo brought him home with a triple. LA cut the lead in half with an RBI double in the fourth and tied in the fifth when a ground-out allowed the runner at third to score. In the bottom of the sixth, LA's Carson Panarisi came in to pinch hit with a runner on first and took the first pitch he saw over the fence for the lead. The Gators had one runner reach in the seventh but couldn't advance him further.
 
 
	- Alek Trukki went four innings and gave up four hits, one run and one walk in the no-decision start. He also tossed a pair of strikeouts.
- Jude Atley (0-1) took the loss, giving up two runs, two hits and a walk.
- Edrian Rangel pitched .2 innings, giving up a run and a hit.
- Brandon Gutierrez went the distance in the seven inning game for the win. He gave up 10 hits but only two runs.
