ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — David Eichhorn set a new career high with ten strikeouts as the San Francisco State baseball team beat Sonoma 4-1 to take the series.
- SF State improves to 25-15 on the season and 21-11 in the CCAA. They sit in sole possession of second in the conference, with series against East Bay (ninth in the CCAA) and Monterey Bay (Third in the CCAA) Sonoma falls to 12-32 and 9-26 in the CCAA.
- Kyle Olimpia went 2-for-2 and hit the only extra base hit for the Gators with a double.
- The Gators were out hit by the Seawolves 10-7 but drew four walks compared to the Seawolves one. They also advanced on three wild pitches.
- Nicholas Allred went 2-for-3 with a walk, RBI and run scored.
- Jackson Wood had a team-high two RBIs

Michael Cunningham each drew walks in the first. A wild pitch put them both in scoring position and
Jackson Wood hit a two-out knock up the middle to bring both home. Garret Barto hit a first pitch home run in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Gators' lead in half. The Gators finally got something going with runners on the corners and no outs in the fifth.
Nicholas Allred hit a two-out RBI single but the next two batters popped up to limit the damage.
Derek Laferriere hit a lead-off bunt single in the seventh. He advanced on a sac bunt and a wild pitch before coming home off a sac fly from
Daniel Murillo.
Leading 4-1 in the eighth, Eichhorn gave up a lead-off hit but the runner was erased with a double play. He gave up two more hits and a walk to load the bases but a pop-up to shortstop ended the threat. Sonoma only could put one runner on base in the ninth.
- Eichhorn (5-0) went eight innings and gave up nine hits but only one run off the solo shot. He improves his ERA to 3.00 on the season
- Three pitchers worked to keep the ninth clean with Scott Bauman getting the final out.
- Noah Souza took the loss for Sonoma
