LOS ANGELES — Facing a familiar opponent, the RV San Francisco State baseball team was looking to repeat the magic from a year ago in the CCAA Tournament Championship game but fell 12-8.
- SF State falls to 33-21 on the season. Cal State Monterey Bay improves to 36-16 and earns the conference automatic bid.
- Justin Johnson, Michael Cunningham, Nicholas Allred and Derek Laferriere all were named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Johnson went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and five RBIs.
- Daniel Santos hit a double to give him 36 career doubles, tied for second most all-time.
- Cunningham swiped his 20th base of the season.

Justin Johnson hit a ball over the fence to give the Gators a 4-0 lead after one. A pair of doubles and a sac fly helped the Otters plate three runs in the bottom of the inning. Johnson hit an RBI single in the third inning to get a run back.
Daniel Santos hit a double to left center and
Nicholas Cook singled and advanced on an error while Santos came home. The Otters tied up the game in the fourth inning. Cook hit an RBI single in the fifth to give the Gators the lead. The Otters added four runs in the fifth and two in the eighth to take a 12-7 lead going into the ninth inning. Johnson hit a solo home run but the next three Gators were retired in order.
- Jude Atley made his first start and gave the Gators three innings of work. He gave up five runs and six hits and walked a batter.
- Anthony Alvarez (1-2) went 1.2 innings and gave up four hits, five runs and three walks.
- Andrew Silva and Nick Bacura came in relief after that, each giving up a run.
- Kyle Giovannoni (4-0) earned the win in relief, Drew Aguilar earned his third save.
The Gators will find out if they will play in the NCAA West Regional tomorrow. The selection show will be at 7:30 pm on Sunday, May 11.
