How It Happened - Game One

With bases loaded and no outs to start the game, Stephen Espinoza reached on a fielder's choice to bring one run home. Jackson Wood grounded out to add another run for the Gators. A fly out in the bottom of the inning by the Otters cut the Gators lead in half. Bases loaded again in the third and Derek Laferriere capitalized with a two-out 2RBI single to right. Monterey tied things up in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs off four hits. They put up another crooked number in the fifth, plating four runs to go up 8-4. Laferriere hit a double in the sixth, advanced to third on a fly out and scored off an Allred single to center to get a run back. But the Otters responded with a solo shot from Javier Felix. Johnson homered in the top of the ninth but the Gators could not get much going past that.

How It Happened - Game Two

The bases loaded in the first all thanks to free passes. Matt Sugden hit a 2 RBI single to right to give the Gators the early lead. The Otters loaded the bases as well in the first, scoring on a bases loaded walk, sac fly and RBI single before Edrian Rangel came in to pitch to limit any further damage. Nicholas Cook sparked a six-run rally in the fifth. He opened with a double, advanced to third off an infield single and scored off another infield single. Bases loaded up with one out and Wood and Sugden both drew four-pitch walks to give the Gators a 5-3 lead. A wild pitch plated another runner and Cook bookended the inning with a 2RBI single to left to extend the lead to 8-3. Evan Stauch hit a solo home run for the Otters and Cole Muchinson hit an RBI double to cut the Gators' lead to three. AJ Schrader took advantage of another bases loaded situation and cleared the bases with a double to go up 11-5. An error allowed another Otter run to score in the seventh but the Gators put away the next batter.
