The Gators had an early lead in the first quarter but a 8-0 scoring run by the Wildcats put them up 13-6. Leilani Blecha drove in a lay-up to get the Gators on the board again but Chico State responded with back-to-back threes to make it a double-digit lead. Brombacher scored in the final minute of the quarter to make it a one possession game trailing 19-16. The Gator offense was stagnant in the second quarter, only scoring on one basket through the first six and a half minutes while Chico State added 15 points. Geriah Bradley ended the scoring drought to get the Gators back on track and the Gators trailed 36-25 heading into the locker room. The Wildcat offense remained hot and led by as much as 16 in the third quarter. With 2:25 to go, the Gators went on a 7-0 scoring run to make it a 10-point deficit but the Wildcats scored on a jumper with 20 seconds left to take a 12 point lead into the final frame. The Wildcats used an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to lead by 21 with 5:38 remaining, putting a comeback out of reach.
