SAN FRANCISCO - Athena Brombacher had a season-high 22 points and the San Francisco State women's basketball team picked up a 62-51 win at home against Cal State Monterey Bay.

- SF State improves to 4-13Â on the season and 2-9Â in the CCAA. Cal State Monterey Bay falls to 8-8 and 5-6 in the CCAA.
- In addition to the 22 points, Brombacher grabbed seven rebounds and stole the ball four times.
- Geriah Bradley had five assists to give her 79 on the season to already surpass her total from last season. She also chipped in 17 points.
- The Gators drew 20 fouls and went 18-for-23 at the line. Bradley went 9-for-11.
- SF State limited Monterey Bay to shoot 7.1 percent from three.
Both teams added points on free throw attempts before a basket from the Otters with 6:06 to go in the first put them up 5-1. Tegan Gaines' three point basket gave the Gators their first lead up 8-7. The teams went back and forth the rest of the quarter with the Otters taking a 13-11 advantage heading into the second. Brombacher went on a 6-0 run in the second quarter to give the Gators a 23-16 lead. The Otters responded with a 10-0 run to take a three-point lead with a little over a minute to go in the quarter. Malea Scobie took a pass from Bradley under the basket to cut the Otters' lead down to one and trail 28-27 at the end of the quarter.
The Gators opened the third on a 9-0 run. Brombacher had seven of the points including a rare three-point basket. The Otters came back within a possession but Bradley respond right away with a driving lay-up to regain a two possession lead. Bradley made another couple shots at the line and dished out an assist to Brombacher to help the Gators take a 45-36 lead with one frame remaining. After the Otters scored the first basket of the quarter, the Gators went on a 9-0 run to take their largest lead of the game yet up by 16 with 6:18 remaining. Both teams fouled throughout the rest of the game and the Gators were able to get it done at the line to maintain their lead.
