POMONA, Calif. - The San Francisco State men's basketball team fell on the road to the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos 80-62.
- SF State falls to 2-18 and 1-13 in conference. Cal Poly Pomona improves to 11-9 and 6-8 in the CCAA.
- Diego Martinez and Brandon Lucas each had 13 points.
- The Gators shot 37.3 percent from the field while Pomona shot 47.1
- The Broncos had a major advantage on rebounding, grabbing 53 compared to the Gators' 31.
- Kevin Simeth led the Broncos with 21 points.
The Broncos used a 11-0 run to take a 22-9 lead midway through the first half. Lucas brought the deficit back down to single digits with a three-point basket at 5:19. The Gators could not close the gap further than that and trailed 37-26 at halftime. Pomona scored the first three baskets in the second half before Markees Williams stopped the bleeding with a put back jumper. Fed Pernell got the Gators within 13 but the Broncos pulled away and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
