How It Happened

Bradley had a pair of steals on the Yotes side of the court that resulted in early buckets. After taking a 10-9 lead, the Gator offense started to stall and the Yotes took advantage of several opportunities at the line. Down 24-14 with under 30 to go, Samantha Myhr banked a three to provide some momentum going into the next quarter. Trailing by eight, Bradley blocked a three-point shot and scored the next seven points for the Gators to cut the lead down to 27-24 with 5:20 to go. The Gators were able to get back within one but could never get over the hump and trailed 31-28 after two quarters.

Myhr was fouled making a three-point shot and completed the four-point play to tie the game at 34-34. The Yotes turned the ball over and Bradley took advantage and scored on a three-pointer to take the lead. After the Gators went up by five, the Yotes outscored the Gators 10-4 to take a 45-43 lead with a minute to go in the third. Bradley was fouled with 30 seconds to go and made both shots to tie it up. She got another opportunity on the next possession and gave the Gators a one-point lead. Simone Murray fouled on the next possession and the Yotes retook the lead at 47-46 to close the third quarter. The Gators were able to take a brief lead after Blecha scored a three to tie the game and Brombacher made a shot at the line to give the Gators a one-point lead. But the Yotes outscored the Gators 9-2 heading into the final media timeout. Teagan Gaines scored a lay-up with 1:22 remaining to cut the lead down to four and give the Gators a chance at a comeback. The Gators gave up a lay-up on the following possession and the six point deficit proved too much to overcome with a minute left.
