How It Happened

Errors to start set one killed any momentum the Gators tried to build offensively. The Gators found something during a 4-0 run that gave them a 13-9 lead. Menlo outscored the Gators 9-3 before they took a time-out. SF State could not get much going as the Oaks forced the Gators to side-out every time they got the serve back.

The Gators had their most efficient offensive performance in the second set and finished with a .560 percent hitting percentage and one attack error. The Gators led 12-11 and Menlo used both time-outs while the Gators pulled away with a 10-4 run. Larson had eight kills in the set.

A 3-0 start in set three gave the Gators a lead they would never let up. While the Oaks came within two of the Gators lead at 14-12, The Gators outscored the Oaks 11-3 to close out the set.

SF State led by as many as seven-points in set four. Menlo made things interesting with a comeback and cut the Gator lead to 21-20. The Gators only allowed one more kill to land as they took the final set.
