SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco State volleyball team picked up where they left off from the day before and won a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-18) match over Chico State.
- SF State improves to 6-8 and sits at .500 in conference for the first time this season at 3-3. Chico State falls to 4-7 and 1-4 in the CCAA.
- Alana Larson led the team with a game-high 15 kills. She also added an ace and a pair of blocks.
- Rubi Harrington, who played only her second game at libero, had 17 digs to go with four aces.
- Melanie Hewlett dished 32 assists and averaged over 10 per set.
- Lilly Rix led all players with four blocks and matched Chico's total number of block assists.
Down 12-10, Harrington and Larson each had aces in a 6-1 run to put the Gators back on top. Chico tied things up at 20 apiece. Larson had her hand in four of the next five points to secure the set win.
Aidan Goodrich had three kills to open set two up 6-0. The Gators forced the Wildcats to side-out every time through the first four serves. Although the Wildcats cut the lead to four, the Gators pulled away late in the set.
SF State led 9-0 in set three and never looked back. The Gators held the Wildcats to a .000 hitting percentage.
