NAMPA, Idaho - The San Francisco State softball team closed out the weekend with a pair of games against Central Washington. They took a 12-6 victory in game one but fatigue got the best of them in a 18-2 loss in game two.
- The Gators stand at 9-6 on the season.
- SF State tied its season high of 13 hits in game one but only managed six in game two.
- Marissa Jordan hit her first home run of the season.
- SF State swiped eight bags in game one. Olivia Mares already has 20 in the early season. With the entirity of conference season to go, Mares sits at 15th in a single season.
- The Gators had a season-high five errors in the loss in game two.
Mares bunt singled and stole second in her first at bat. Malia Morreria singled to put runners at the corners. Morreria tried to steal second and forced a throw to second to allow Mares to score. Morreria drove back to first to stay safe. She did manage to score second on her next steal attempt, advanced to third and scored off a wild pitch to make it a 2-0 lead after one. The Wildcats loaded the bases with no outs in the second. The Gators got a strike out and force out on the lead runner to get to two outs but could not get the out when the Wildcats put the ball in play next and they cut the lead to 2-1. In the bottom of the third, Ashley Rocha drew a lead-off walk, stole second and was advanced to third on a ground-out. She made a good slide on a sac-fly to extend the lead to 3-1. The Wildcats put together a two-out rally in the fourth to retake the lead 4-3.
Olivia Moscardi hit a RBI double to left to tie the game. Jordan came into pinch hit and took a first pitch ball over the left center fence with two runners on to retake the lead. Cardwell brought in another pair of runners with a single up the middle to extend the lead to 9-4. Central Washington hit an RBI double to get a run back in the fifth, but Mia Pamplona responded with an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the inning. The Gators had bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the sixth. Taylor Rapp put the ball in play and the short stop mishandled it, allowing for two more runs to cross. The Gators could not get another run in the inning to run-rule Central Washington but limited the Wildcats to one run in the top of the seventh.
- Alexis Perez started in the circle and went 3.2 innings. She gave up five hits, four runs and two walks before being relieved. She also had two strikeouts
- Kharime Caratachea (4-3) earned the win in relief. She gave up five hits and two runs but no walks.
- Ellie Gilbert (3-3) took the loss, giving up seven runs and six hits.
Central Washington loaded the bases with two outs in the second and capitalized with a bases clearing double. Jordan and Nelson hit back-to-back singles. Jordan stole third and the catcher threw to an uncovered third base, allowing Jordan to score. Luttig laid a suicide squeeze down to bring in a second run for the Gators. The Gators did not get much going on offense after that. They had a chance for a comeback down 7-2 in the seventh but 11 runs from Central Washington put it out of reach.
- Tori Hernandez (1-1) went 2.2 innings before being relieved. She gave up five runs and was charged with the loss
- Alexis Perez did most of the work in the circle and went 3.2 innings, giving up 10 runs, eight earned.
- Zoey Theophilus (3-2) went the distance to pick up the win.
