How It Happened - G1

The Yotes placed runners on the corners with two outs in the first. A single to shortstop brought a run in but the Gators got the next out to end the inning. Nelson hit the ball over the right field fence to tie the game in the second inning. The Gators had a chance to get out of the bottom of the inning without any damage with bases loaded and two outs but a bases clearing double gave the Yotes the lead. A solo homer in the third inning extended the lead to 5-1 and the Yotes added three more runs in the fourth. The Gators had two runners in scoring position with no outs in the fifth. Taylor Wilson hit a sac fly for one run and Marissa Jordan drew a throw down from the catcher to allow Cardwell to score and cut the lead to 8-3. The Yotes scored three more runs in the bottom of the inning to run-rule the Gators.

How It Happened - G2

With a pair of runners on the corners and two outs in the second, Rocha drove the ball down the right field line for a 2 RBI double. Legler cut the Gators' lead in half with a solo shot over center field in the bottom of the third. Wilson took a four pitch walk to open the fourth, stole second and advanced to third on a groundout. Deziree Gomez hit a single to center to bring Wilson home. The Yotes hit an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth to come back again within one. The Gators put together a four-run rally in the sixth. Rocha had another 2 RBI double, this time to left field and Olivia Mares and Cardwell each added RBI singles. Although the Yotes would score another run in the sixth, Gomez added some insurance runs in the seventh with a 2 RBI double and would not allow a runner to reach scoring position in the bottom of the inning.
