SEASIDE, Calif. — The San Francisco State men's basketball could not keep up offensively with Cal State Monterey Bay and fell 98-75.
- SF State falls to 3-23 on the season and 2-18 in CCAA action. Monterey Bay improves to 16-10 and 11-9, tied for third in the CCAA.
- Brandon Lucas had a team-high 15 points and went 5-for-10 from deep.
- The Otters took a huge lead early on thanks to 58.3 percent shooting in the first half. They finished the game shooting 52.2 percent.
- Monterey Bay held a 42 to 29 advantage on rebounds.
- Six different Otters reached double figures.
The Otters opened up the game up 10-2 after the first media timeout. Milandev Chatha had a couple of baskets to keep the Gators within singled digits of the lead. Midway through the first half, the Otters used a 9-2 run to pull further away and lead 33-16 with 7:52 to go. While the Gators were able to score, they could not slow down the Otters squad and trailed 58-32 at the end of the half. The Otters led by as many as 37 points in the second half, making a comeback out of reach.
