MBB | Four Gators Earn CSC Academic All-District®

SAN FRANCISCO - Four student-athletes from the San Francisco State men's basketball team has been named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® men's basketball team, as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Markees Williams, Bricen Buciak, Diego Martinez and Milandev Chatha all earned the honor for the first time.

The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the pitch and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at her current institution. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Buciak was the only player to start and play in every game of the season. He scored 218 points, grabbed 112 rebounds, dished out 24 assists and stole the ball 13 times. Buciak was named CCAA Player of the Week on December 16. He recorded his first double-double in a win over Cal Poly Pomona on January 2.

Chatha played in all but one game and made 19 starts. He finished second on the team in points scored with 260. The junior from Sunnyvale also grabbed 96 rebounds, dished out 28 assists and stole the ball 17 times.

Martinez had a strong second half to lead the Gators in scoring with 289 points. The sophomore had five 20+ point games between January 8 and February 12 including a career-high 26 points against Chico State.

Williams started all but one game for the Gators. He led the Gators in assists with 92. Williams also scored 192 points and grabbed 94 rebounds. He had six assists in a game twice last season.
