LINCOLN, Calif.— The San Francisco State softball team was able to get runners on throughout the day but missed opportunities on offense and defensive miscues on defense led to a pair of losses to Jessup. They fell 9-3 in game one and dropped a tough 7-6 game in nine innings in game two.
- The Gators fall to 13-16 on the season while Jessup improves to 16-15.
- Cardwell's hit streak stayed alive as she went 2-for-4 in both games. She added another double to give her 12 on the season.
- The Gators recorded four errors in both games on the day.
- In game one, the Gators left 11 on base but only left four on in game two.
- Ashley Rocha had a three-RBI game in game two.
- Deziree Gomez went 3-for-4 in game two.
Gators were in trouble early with bases loaded and no outs. One run got in with a walk. Next batter struck out. Reagann Hoblit hit the ball to center, Rocha made the catch and made a perfect throw at the plate to get the runner at home for a double play to end the inning. The Gators had runners on the corners with no outs in the second. Del Rio executed a perfect bunt and got to first safely while bringing in a run to tie the game. Jessup hit a lead-off double in the bottom of the third and the runner scored off a wild pitch to make it a 2-1 game. The Gators had runners on the corners once again in the fourth with no outs. Rocha reached on a fielder's choice as a runner came in to tie the game. Gators looked to get out of the bottom of the inning with no damage but a bobble by the shortstop allowed runners on first and second with two outs and two more runs scored. Jessup added five runs in the fifth to take a 9-2 lead. Cardwell had a bases loaded knock to bring a run to make it a 9-3 lead.
- Alexis Perez (8-6) was charge with the loss. She gave up 11 hits and eight runs although only five were earned through 4.2 innings
- Tori Hernandez came in relief and pitched 1.1 inning. She gave up a run but also struck out four.
- Evangelina Chavarria (4-2) pitched a complete game and limited the Gators to three runs on nine hits.
The Warriors' first runner reached on an error by the short stop and scored off a triple in the first. The Gators put together a two-out rally in the second. Three straight Gators singled and Rocha hit a two-run double to take a 2-1 lead. Cardwell hit a lead-off double in the third and Nelson singled to right field to allow Cardwell to score. The Warriors' Kaiya Miller hit a bases clearing double to reclaim the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth. Marissa Jordan hit a two-out double in the fifth, Mares came in to pinch run and Nelson brought her home with a single to the outfield to tie the game. Nelson was on second and went to steal third and a poor throw down to third allowed Nelson to score. The Warrior reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the inning with a two-out 2RBI single that gave them a 6-5 lead. Gomez was able to tie the game up in the top of the sixth. She singled, stole second, advanced on a ground out and scored on a single by Rocha.
The Warriors had bases loaded with one out in extra innings in the eighth. A ball hit to the pitcher was sent back home to get the second out and a pop-up to third extended the game further. Jessup's lead-off hitter singled in the bottom of the ninth, stole second and advanced on an error to reach third. The Gators faced bases loaded again in the ninth. Mims got two strikeouts and induced a ball to short but the ball sailed past first base for the winning run to score.
- Kharime Caratachea (4-8) went 8.2 innings and gave up 14 hits, seven runs with five being earned. She struck out a career-high eight batters.
- Nohemi Livingston (7-7) went the full nine innings and gave upe 12 hits, six runs but not a single walk.
