How It Happened - G1

Dominican struck first in the second inning with a two-out RBI single. An error from Deziree Gomez in the third inning allowed two runs to cross. The Gators had bases loaded with one out in the fourth but only got one run through a fielder's choice  to cut the deficit. Dominican's Morgan Heggstrom hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning and the Penguins added another pair of runs in the following inning to lead 7-1. The Gators' offense showed some sign of life when Marissa Jordan hit a 2 RBI single but it was not enough to extend the game to extra innings.

How It Happened - G2

Both teams' pitchers limited the damage through the first six inning. A two-out error from Alyssa Luttig in the second allowed a run to cross. Anaissa Del Rio hit an RBI single up the middle in the fourth. Dominican loaded the bases with one out in the seventh. A single and a throwing error from left allowed two runs to cross and another single to the outfield allowed a third run to come through. Del Rio started the bottom of the seventh reaching due to an error. Olivia Moscardi doubled to put both runners in scoring position. Olivia Mares laid down a perfect bunt that helped bring in two runs. With Mares at second, Morreira singled to left to bring Mares home and tie the game. Cardwell drove a double deep down the left line and Morreira used her speed to run from first to home for the winning run.
