LEXINGTON, Ky. — The San Francisco State volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for their success in the classroom for the 2025-26 academic year.  San Francisco State volleyball has now earned the honor for 10 consecutive seasons and 11 of the last 12 seasons. 

Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court as 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

The Gators followed up their historic 2025 campaign by advancing to the 2025 CCAA Tournament Championship and were led by AVCA All-American Honorable Mention Aidan Goodrich. The 2026 campaign begins on August 27 with three matches at the CWU Volleyball Invitational. SF State's first home match of the season won't come until September 18 vs. Cal Poly Pomona.
