SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State volleyball team was selected to finish sixth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Gators received 131 points, three behind fifth ranked Stanislaus State and six behind fourth ranked Fresno Pacific.

SF State had another memorable postseason run. The Gators entered the 2025 CCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed and knocked off Stanislaus State in five sets before stunning top-seeded Cal Poly Pomona, 3-2, in the semifinals. That sent SFSU to the CCAA Tournament championship match for the first time in program history. The run came one year after the Gators captured the NCAA West Region title and advanced to the 2024 NCAA Championship match.

The Gators bring back AVCA All-American Honorable Mention and All-CCAA First Team recipient Aidan Goodrich, All-CCAA Second Team member Grace Witcher and All-CCAA Honorable Mention Melanie Hewlett.

The volleyball season kicks off next week at the CWU Invitational hosted by Central Washington. They play the host school on August 27 at 6:30 p.m.
