WSOC | Gators Open Season with Tie With Jessup

ROCKLIN, Calif. - The San Francisco State women's soccer team opened the season with a 1-1 tie against Jessup College. The Gators played well through mid 90's temperature most of the game but a goal in the 79th minute equalized the game and resulted in a tie.

  • SF State previously played Jessup in 2014 and lost in double overtime.
  • Kiralyn Kuramoto scored the Gator's first goal of the season, already matching her total from last season.
  • Outside of the Gator's goalkeeper, Journey Hett and Miranda Medina each logged in 90 minutes.
  • SF State edged Jessup six to four on shots. Only Gracie Worthen recorded more than one shot with two.
  • The Gators were called for eight fouls compared to Jessup's five.

 How It Happened



Kuramoto got the Gators on the board in the 13th minute with a shot outside the box that sailed to the top shelf of the net. Jessup looked to equalize later in half with a penalty kick opportunity but the officials reversed it and deemed Jessup was offsides first. Jessup was driving towards the goal with 12 minutes left in the game. Gracyn Wilkinson was able to evade the Gator's keeper, pass the ball to Micaela Romo to score. Worthen had a good shot with less than nine minutes to go but the shot was too high.

Peyton Graham made her first collegiate start and played all 90 minutes. She was created with one save.
