How It Happened

Central Washinton opened set one up with a 4-0 run before the Gators were able to get on the board. A service ace handed the ball back to the Wildcats and Central Washington slowly increased its lead through the set. The Gators called a timeout down 16-9 and were able to come within four. Ultimately the deficit was too much to overcome.

The Gators and Wildcats went back and forth through the start of set two. Goodrich landed two of the five kills and Grace Witcher and FauntLeRoy each had an ace. A 7-2 run by Central Washington saw the Wildcats to start to pull away. Three different players recorded kills to get the Gators back within two down 20-18. The Wildcats recorded the next five points to shut the door on a comeback.

After starting the third set neck and neck, the Wildcats went on a 7-0 to take a sizable lead. Errors from Central Washington kept SF State in it but the Gators could not get enough going offensively to come back in the third set.
