SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The San Francisco State volleyball team took set one with #14 Cal State San Bernardino and played the next two sets close but ultimately fell 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 21-25, 14-25).
- SF State falls to 2-5 while Cal State San Bernardino improves to 8-0
- Alana Larson and Grace Witcher each had double-doubles. Larson had a team-high 14 kills and 11 digs while Witcher had 13 kills and 11 digs as well.
- The Gators finished the match with a .192 hitting percentage. The Yotes had a .271 hitting percentage.
- SF State had nine service aces but also recorded 16 service errors. Aidan Goodrich had a team-high three aces.
- Melanie Hewlett dished 35 assists.
The Gators started the match strong and finished set one with no attack errors and a hitting percentage of .462. Larson led the Gators with six kills in the set.
SF State trailed 18-8 in set two and rallied to tie the set at 21-21. The Yotes scored the next four points to shut the comeback down.
Lilly Rix had back-to-back kills in a 4-0 run that gave the Gators an early 6-4 lead. The Yotes had their own 4-0 run to take a two point lead. The Gators got the match back within three at set point but a service error from Larson gave the Yotes the set win.
Errors started to pile up in set four. The Gators called a timeout down 7-3 and were unable to comeback in the set.
