WSOC | Defense Holds In First Win of the Season

SEASIDE, Calif. - The San Francisco State women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Chaminade. The Gators scored in the 17th minute and held up defensively to keep Chaminade off the board.

  • Emily Gehrlein-Allen registered her first career assist.

How It Happened



At the 17th minute, Gehrlein-Allen crossed the ball to the center of the box from the left corner. The ball landed in front of Alvarez and she shot the ball in the left side of the net. The Gator had a chance to double up the score with less than seven minutes to go. Worthen beat a pair of defenders on her in the back and shot the ball. The charging goalkeeper made the stop.

Peyton Graham (1-1-1) picked up her first clean sheet and win in the net. She tallied eight saves with six of them coming in the first half. SydneyĀ BakritzesĀ (0-4) made one save and allowed one goal.
