Biography

2017: Appeared in all but one match for SF State her final season… Was second on the team in total points with 248 and kills at 214… Had double-digit kills nine times on the year… Recorded a career-high 21 kills in a 3-1 victory over Humboldt State in her final home match as a Gator… Was named Gator of the Week for that performance (Oct. 30-Nov. 5)… Recorded a then career-high 17 kills in a 3-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 20, also posted a .556 hitting percentage, which is ninth-best in program single-match history.

2016:  Played in 26 matches, starting in all 26 of them … appeared in 84 sets and led the Gators with 222 kills, averaging 2.64 kills per set while hitting .126 … finished with team-leading 27 service aces, a new career-best, it was also the seventh most in the CCAA … tallied 196 digs, averaging 2.26 digs per set … recorded 10 or more kills in 12 matches this season … tallied a season-high 15 kills against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 30 …  recorded first career double-double against UC San Diego on Oct. 7, tallying 12 kills and 12 digs … posted back-to-back double-doubles on Oct. 21-22 against Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay, against the Pioneers she finished with 13 kills and 14 digs against the Otters she recorded 10 kills and 11 digs … recorded a career-high 16 digs against Stanislaus State on Oct. 29… Named 2016-17 CCAA All-Academic.

2015: Played in 27 of the 28 matches this season… started in 18 of those matches and appeared in 92 sets… she averaged 2.61 points per set and was fourth on the team averaging 1.89 kills per set… finished the season with 174 kills which is a career-high and was fourth on the team… had a career-high of 13 kills in the win over Cal State San Marcos Sept. … had an impressive performance in the match against Cal State Monterey Bay Oct. 22 where she posted an outstanding .474 hitting percentage with 10 kills on 19 attempts… she led the Gators in total blocks on the season with 90 total blocks, averaging .098 blocks per set…she finished fourth on the team with 15 aces, a career-high…was named to the CCAA All-Academic Team… as well as the Fall 2015 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2014:  Played in 10 matches starting one in her freshman campaign…played in 18 sets, averaged 1.72 kills per set, tallying 31 on the year…she hit .286 for the season and finished the year with four total blocks…made her collegiate debut on Sep. 20 against Humboldt State recording two kills on three swings…made her first collegiate start on Oct. 25 at Cal State San Bernardino…tallied seven kills on 24 swings with two assists in the five set win over Sonoma State on Nov. 11…recorded a career-high with eight kills and three total blocks in the season finale at Chico State on Nov. 15…was named to the Fall 2014 SF State Athletics’ Department Honor Roll and Dean’s List as well as the Spring 2015 Honor Roll and Dean’s List.

PRIOR TO SF STATE:  Joins the Gators after lettering four years at Horizon High School…the native of Scottsdale, Ariz., recorded 407 kills for head coach Valorie McKenzie while manning the middle for the Huskies…in four years she helped guide her squad to an impressive 143-20 record…in her senior campaign her team finished runner ups in the AIA Division I Conference State Championships…she finished that year with 90 kills in 90 sets played, hitting .268 with 28 total blocks…in her junior year she finished second on the team with 143 kills, averaging 1.3 kills per set while recording 56 total blocks helping the Huskies win the 2012 AIA Division I Conference State Championship…that season according to MaxPreps.com her squad was the top team in the state and was 10th nationally…had a breakout season her sophomore  year tallying career-bests in kills 156 and total blocks with 71…parents are Doug and Tricia Johnson…has one sibling, a brother named Danny…Grandfather George Mikan is an NBA Hall of Famer that played 10 years in the league notably for the Minneapolis Lakers…hobbies and interests include golf, sand volleyball, sailing, and traveling…plans on majoring in business.
