SEATTLE--- Western Washington held the SF State Gators to just 22% shooting from the field and forced 25 turnovers to key its 58-24 non-conference win in the Second Round of the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic in Seattle, Wash., this afternoon.
Dominique Hunter (San Francisco, California, Gateway) led the way for the Gators with 5 points and 11 rebounds.
The Vikings (2-0) scored the first 13 points of the game and never looked back. They increased their lead to 34-7 with five minutes left in the first half and took a 37-15 lead into halftime.
SF State did hold Western Washington to just 21 points in the second half and 29% shooting in the second half. Amanda Dunbar paced the Vikings with 11 points and Lauren Hefflin chipped in 10 points.
With her combined 16 points, 23 rebounds, and three blocked shots in the Gators' two games in Seattle, Hunter now has 719 points, 616 rebounds, and 166 blocked shots in her career at SF State. She moved up to 18th on the Gators' career scoring list.
The Gators will return to the court this Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 2pm in Seaside, Calif., as they begin conference play against Cal State Monterey Bay.
