SEATTLE – The 4x400 relay team of Tyler Dalbey, Keenya McDaniel, Stefeny Butler and Alicia Chambers finished eighth in their event on Saturday to highlight a brief schedule for the San Francisco State track and field squad at the 2011 Flotrack Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor Stadium on the University of Washington campus.
The Gator quartet placed fourth in their heat and eighth overall with a time of 3 minutes, 52.24, edging out the top relays from four Division I schools in Nevada, UC Davis, UC Riverside and Cal Poly. In addition, Saturday's performance also marked the third different SF State relay combination to achieve a 2011 NCAA Division II indoor provisional qualifying time, which also ranks second in school history.
Elsewhere, Luisa Musika established a provisional qualifying mark in the weight throw with an indoor personal-best distance of 53 feet, 7.75 inches, good for second place in her flight and 16th overall.
The Gators also received a trio of top 20 individual finishes from Chambers, Carrie Thomas and Dominique Knowles. Chambers placed 14th overall in the 60 meters with a time of 7.82 seconds, Thomas tied for 12th in the 200 with a 25.48 clocking, while Knowles wound up third in her flight and 14th overall in the triple jump with a leap of 37-04.50.
