Gators End Season with 60-52 Loss to Chico State

Dominique Hunter ended her illustrious four-year Gator career with 22 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots vs. Chico State on Friday.
SAN FRANCISCO The visiting Chico State women's basketball team overcame a 15-point halftime deficit Friday to defeat San Francisco State, 60-52, in the California Collegiate Athletic Association regular-season finale for both squads in the Main Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Gators (6-20, 6-16 CCAA) were eliminated from the CCAA Tournament picture, while the Wildcats (15-11, 12-10) will prepare for their first-round playoff match-up on Tuesday.

In her final game at SF State, Dominique Hunter posted her 18th double-double of the season with game highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds, including a 14-for-19 performance from the free-throw line. The Oakland, Calif., native, who was honored as part of Senior Night festivities prior to the game, also tied a personal best with six blocks.

Elsewhere, Tyler Lydon finished with 14 points and six rebounds to lead Chico State, while Jasmine Miller (11 points) and Analise Riezebos (10 points) also reached double figures in scoring.

Despite a seemingly comfortable 35-20 advantage at intermission, the Gators were plagued by cold shooting after the break, connecting on just 4 of 18 field-goal attempts (22.2 percent).  The Wildcats capitalized and took the lead for good at 44-42 on a Molly Collins tip-in with 7:26 remaining in the game.
