TURLOCK, Calif.--- SF State women's track team finished in first place in three events at the 2011 Kim Duyst Invitational on the campus of Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock this afternoon in an invitational that had over 900 competitors.
Samantha Eggert won the 400 meter run with a time of 59.21 while she was also part of the 4x400 relay team with

"We had a promising first outdoor meet of the season," said SF State Head Coach Terry Burke. "Overall this team has more quality and depth than any previous SF State Track Team," added Burke. "Without the four athletes who are going to Indoor Nationals next weekend, we were able to run a solid early season time in the 4x100 meter relay and capture the 4x400 meter relay."
The 4x100 relay team of
Brittany Johnson,
Kayleigh Hendrix,
Brionne Baucham, and
Stefeny Butler finished in second place with a time of 48.40. The 4x400 relay winning time of 3:59.22 is 9th best in school history.
Felicia Terwilliger returned to competition for the first time in 2001 and had a second place jump of 5'4.25 in the high jump, which is fifth best in SF State history and 3/4 of an inch from her personal best.
In the three throwing events that the Gators participated in, SF State had six top five finishes lead by
Luisa Musika who won the shot put with a throw of 42'2.75" (which is the 7th best mark at SF State) and her second place throw of 143-06 in the discus, which places her 5th on the Gator career list.
"Our throwers gave what as now become for them a typical strong showing," noted Burke.
SF State newcomer
Brionne Baucham continued to show promise in the sprints finishing second in the 100 (12.60) and the 200 (25.53). She also was part of both relay teams.
The Gators' 4x400 relay team of
