SAN FRANCISCO---  The 2012-13 SF State women's basketball team will begin their regular season this week with a pair of non-conference games against Holy Names University and Nebraska-Kearney.  The Gators will travel to Oakland, Calif., this Thursday, Nov. 15 for a 5:30pm scheduled tip-off with the Hawks of Holy Names University.  They will then host Nebraska-Kearney this Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2pm at the Swamp in their home opener.

The Gators went 1-1 in their exhibition games against two NCAA Division I opponents.  SF State defeated the Wolf Pack of Nevada 73-68 on Nov. 4 as four Gators scored in double figures led by Angela Van Sickel and Nicole Hicks each with 13 points.  The Gators then lost 70-51 at San Jose State this past Friday, Nov. 9 in San Jose.  Hicks paced the Gators with 14 points while Farrah Shokoor chipped in 13.

After this weekend, the Gators will begin their CCAA season with a home and away series with Sonoma State.  They will host the Seawolves on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 6pm.  Then on Saturday, Nov. 24, SF State will travel to Rohnert Park, Calif., for a 2pm scheduled tip-off with  Sonoma State.
