SEATTLE – San Francisco State's Zuleima Jimenez posted a pair of top-20 finishes on Sunday to lead a contingent of Gator distance runners at the 2012 Husky Open on the University of Washington campus.
Jimenez began the day with a 20th-place finish in the 1-mile run, clocking at 5 minutes, 19.44 seconds, which ranks third on the SF State indoor track and field all-time performance list, while fellow teammate
Lindsay Enright moved into the fifth spot in school history after placing 24th in the event at 5:22.83.
Later in the afternoon, Jimenez took 16th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:34.90, which ranks fourth on the Gator indoor charts, while
Paxton Cota finished in 20th after posting a result of 10:45.17, which puts her in the sixth position in school history.
In the lone middle distance race of the day for the Purple and Gold,
Kaylie Belk logged at time of 2:20.83 in the 800 meters to finish in 24th.
Select SF State competitors will return to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, Feb. 25, for the Seattle Pacific Last Chance Qualifier in the final meet before bids to the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships are announced.
